BOISE — Attorney General Raúl Labrador visited Lewiston, Moscow, and Sandpoint last week to meet with local leaders, law enforcement officials, community organizers, and small business owners, strengthening partnerships across North Idaho and discussing priorities for protecting Idaho families.
“Local leaders, business owners, and law enforcement understand the unique challenges facing their communities better than anyone,” said Attorney General Labrador. “By listening to their experiences and priorities, we can strengthen our partnerships and better protect families and communities across Idaho.”
In Lewiston, Attorney General Labrador joined State Senator Cindy Carlson for meetings with community leaders including Lewiston Chief of Police David St. Pierre, Nez Perce Sheriff Bryce Scrimsher, Idaho State Police Captain Mike Mooney, Lewiston Mayor Dan Johnson, and Lewiston City Attorney Jennifer Tengono. The discussions focused on collaborative approaches to community safety and ways the Attorney General’s office can support local priorities.
The Attorney General toured the Idaho Northwest Children’s Home with Senator Carlson, learning about their trauma-informed care approach that helps children and families heal and build resilience. The facility serves vulnerable children and families throughout the region.
During his visit, Attorney General Labrador also toured Happy Day Restaurants Distribution facility with Senator Carlson. Owner Tobe Finch showcased their work developing local food supply chains focused on strengthening Idaho’s food independence and community health.
In Moscow, Attorney General Labrador met with Moscow Police Chief Anthony Dahlinger and Latah County Sheriff Richard Skiles to discuss ongoing collaborative efforts and hear about local priorities for keeping their community safe.
Attorney General Labrador also visited Sandpoint, where he met with Representative Cornel Rasor. Last year, Rep. Rasor’s business was destroyed by an arsonist, but he is rebuilding stronger than ever.
“Cornel is a true fighter for North Idaho, and I appreciated the opportunity to speak with folks at his store about the work we’re doing in the Attorney General’s office to defend the Second Amendment and advance conservative policies,” Labrador said.
Attorney General Labrador is committed to building strong relationships with leaders across Idaho and ensuring effective coordination between state and local officials to better serve Idaho families.
