Administration Assistant, Criminal Law Division; Central Office

Primary Duties: The Administrative Assistant will support the Lead Investigator of the Internet Crimes Against Children (“ICAC”) Unit. Typical duties may include managing files, maintaining budget reports, processing invoices, compiling training materials, and fielding phone and email communications to the office. The Administrative Assistant will also help the ICAC Unit fulfill its responsibility to educate the public through social media and other methods of communication.
Requirements: The successful applicant must have a strong work ethic and be able to:
• Communicate competently and clearly.
• Work with little supervision.
• Remain professional and productive in a fast-paced environment.
• Operate office equipment including computers, scanners, copiers, and printers.
• Use typical Microsoft products such as Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Demonstrate familiarity with major social media applications.
This position is not eligible for telework. Normal business hours apply. An associate degree is preferred but not required.

Primary Duties: Provide legal advice and representation to the Department of Health and Welfare in its Region 3 Caldwell office with one other DAG and a Legal Assistant. Duties include representation and advice related to child protection, behavioral health and various social service programs. This position will focus on the litigation needs of the Department in Region 3, which includes appearing in contested administrative hearings and state court, as well as other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Two years of legal experience, litigation experience preferred. Must exhibit strong research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be an active member in good standing of the Idaho State Bar. Knowledge of child protection, administrative law, and experience representing organizations desirable.

Deputy Attorney General, State General Counsel & Fair Hearings Division, Idaho State Tax Commission

Primary Duties: Deputy Attorney General assigned to the Idaho State Tax Commission. Successful applicant will handle litigation-related legal work focused on income tax and sales tax matters. Attorneys assigned to the Tax Commission engage in preventative law practice, providing legal advice on matters that arise during the day-to-day business of the agency, assist with the promulgation of rules and the drafting of legislation, and address issues of statutory interpretation.
Requirements: Prefer at least 2 years of experience. Requires active Idaho license.

Primary Duties: This position assists the Deputy Attorneys General assigned to represent the Idaho Department of Insurance in carrying out its duties of regulating the insurance industry, protecting consumers, and enforcing the Idaho Insurance Code.
Primary duties include: Work directly with Deputy Attorneys General on varying tasks and collaborate with various levels of management, staff, client agency, and the public. Proof and edit documents as requested. Review legal referrals by agency staff and draft administrative orders. Conduct legal and other forms of research through Westlaw and additional internet resources. Draft legal documents, to include complaints, orders, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence. Knowledge of citation format in legal documents. Create, organize, and maintain case files and database systems. Assist agency with statistical reports and coordinate archival of agency dockets. Track administrative penalties. File documents with agency head and courts. Facilitate administrative hearings. Organize evidence for hearings, depositions, etc. Review case filings for procedural compliance and alert attorneys and agency staff to statutory deadlines. Maintain familiarity with the Idaho administrative procedure act; local court rules; civil rules; rules of evidence; and electronic filing rules.
Requirements: Two or more years of experience as a paralegal is preferred. Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must have willingness and ability to learn new programs and processes and cross-train in other support staff positions. Familiarity with document management software is strongly preferred.
