Primary Duties: The successful applicant will be responsible for representing the Idaho Transportation Department in civil litigation. Practice areas include real property, contract disputes, and administrative law. The practice includes motion and trial practice in district court, as well as administrative hearings. The attorney will also provide day-to-day legal advice to department employees on a variety of legal issues, evaluate draft legislation, contracts and proposed administrative rules, and handle administrative appeals filed by contractors and other parties.
Minimum Qualifications: Admission to the Idaho State Bar. Experience in state courts and administrative proceedings and the ability to handle a civil litigation caseload are desirable.
Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of experience in civil litigation is preferred.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will be assigned to the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit to serve as a prosecutor for the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. This position will primarily prosecute ICAC cases but may also handle other felonies, including public corruption cases and referral cases from county prosecuting attorneys. Prosecutors in this unit may also be assigned to assist county prosecuting attorneys in major cases. Primary duties include handling all aspects of criminal prosecution, from search warrant review and screening through trial and sentencing; working closely with investigators throughout the state; and appearing in courtrooms all over Idaho.
The Office of the Attorney General prioritizes the mental health and wellbeing of all ICAC personnel. Each ICAC prosecutor is required to meet with a mental health professional annually.
Minimum Qualifications: Must hold an active Idaho Bar license and have jury trial experience. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel statewide are required. Candidates should be comfortable managing cases with media attention and demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for public service.
Preferred Qualifications: At least two years of prosecution experience, including experience prosecuting ICAC cases. Familiarity with Fourth Amendment jurisprudence on the search and seizure of electronic devices and data stored in the cloud.

Primary Duties: The Office of the Attorney General, Energy & Natural Resources Division is seeking a Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to provide legal counsel to the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) and Idaho Water Resources Board (Board).
The DAG will work closely with IDWR and Board staff to provide legal advice and representation in areas including water law, administrative law, statutory interpretation, rulemaking, contracts and regulatory enforcement. Primary Duties: The successful applicant will serve as 1 of 4 Deputy Attorneys General assigned as in-house counsel to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. Duties include representing PUC staff in utility rate cases and other litigated administrative proceedings, preparing pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents, and otherwise coordinating the presentation of PUC staff’s case. Deputies also prepare post-hearing decision memoranda, opinions, orders, and notices for the PUC. Minimum Qualifications: Active Idaho State Bar license. Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to work independently and to work well with others (including with engineers, accountants, utility analysts, economists, and opposing counsel). Knowledge of utility regulation can be acquired on-the-job.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with government practice, administrative law, appellate court practices, economics, finance, accounting, and antitrust are beneficial.
