Michael Scott Molen Sentenced to Prison
(Boise) – Garden Valley resident, Michael Scott Molen, was sentenced to prison today for lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Senior Judge George D. Carey ordered Molen to serve 20 years in prison with eight years fixed. Molen must also register as a sex offender.
Molen, 47, was found guilty of the charge on June 22, 2007 by a Boise County jury. He was charged on September 19, 2005 of having genital to genital contact with an eight-year-old child in Boise County. Molen has been in custody, as ordered by the court, since his conviction.
The Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit handled the case at the request of former Boise County Prosecuting Attorney Theresa Gardunia. Deputy attorneys general Justin Whatcott and Josh Taylor prosecuted the case.
