Henry Sentenced to Prison for Murdering Her Husband
(Boise) – Rawnie Henry was sentenced today to life in prison for second degree murder of her husband, Joseph Henry, and first degree arson for burning the family’s home, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Fifth District Judge John K. Butler ordered Henry to serve a minimum of 35 years, fined her $105,000, and ordered restitution in an amount to be determined within 90 days.
Rawnie Henry pleaded guilty on April 14, 2006, to second degree murder and first degree arson after she shot her husband on October 8, 2004. In the early morning hours of November 17, 2004, Henry burned the couple’s home to the ground to conceal the crime.
The Special Prosecutions Unit of the Attorney General’s Criminal Law Division prosecuted the case at the request of Jerome County Prosecuting Attorney Jon Nicholson.
