STILL TIME TO FILE A CLAIM AGAINST AT&T MOBILITY

(Boise) – Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is reminding customers of AT&T Mobility that they may be eligible for a refund.  The settlement provides $80 million to be distributed nationwide in refunds to consumers.

The deadline to file claims is May 1, 2015.  Idahoans may access the claim form from the Federal Trade Commission’s website at:  www.ftc.gov/att.  If you are unsure about your eligibility for a refund, please visit the claim website or contact the Claims Administrator at (877) 819-9692.

Customers who use AT&T Mobility for their wireless services may be entitled to a refund for unauthorized charges, or “mobile cramming,” according to an earlier announced settlement with the other 49 Attorneys General, the District of Columbia, the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission.

Consumers who had been “crammed” complained about charges, typically $9.99 a month, for “premium” text message subscription services.  These premium services included horoscopes, trivia, and sports scores, or others they had not authorized or requested.
