Position Available: Deputy Attorney General, Criminal Law Division
Salary: Salary DOE - Full state employee benefits package.
Location: Boise, Idaho. As Idaho's capital, Boise is a growing city of approximately 214,200 and serves as headquarters for several major national and international corporations. Boise offers a rich variety of both cultural and recreational opportunities. Idaho's world-famous fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking and hiking are all within easy access. Housing costs are moderate.
Primary Duties: The Criminal Law Division of the Idaho Attorney General’s Office handles a wide variety of criminal matters, as well as providing civil representation to state law enforcement agencies. This position is within the unit representing the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC). This unit provides legal representation to the IDOC, Idaho Board of Correction, Idaho Commission for Pardons and Parole and their employees on a wide variety of matters, including prison civil rights litigation, personnel cases, contracts, legislation and a broad range of other matters.
Requirements: Must be licensed to practice law in Idaho and have prior litigation experience. Experience in corrections, contracts, employment law, civil rights law, and/or government liability law is desirable. Prosecutorial experience is preferred. Enthusiasm for public service is essential
